On Thanksgiving Day, the Circle of Love Food Pantry continued the tradition of feeding the hungry and sharing hope from the North Amityville Fire Company at 601 Broadway. The event was a tremendous success!

We provided over 1000 meals to Veterans, Shelters, the Homeless, Nursing Homes, Halfway Houses, Special Needs Homes, Families of the incarcerated, and the Homebound. All the Volunteers did a fantastic job, and a special acknowledgment to the Suffolk County Dept. of Social Services team and the North Amityville Fire Company crew that were so instrumental to the day’s success.

Special thanks to Supervisor Rich Schaffer, who asked me to pick up the mantle for the Thanksgiving Day Celebration, and his supporting staff. Shoutouts to The Refuge Restaurant and Southbay Diner, all the chefs and cooks, community grocery stores, local businesses, municipalities, faith-based organizations, residents, the Christian Life Center Church, donors, and all who collaborated to contribute to our success.

It was a great day, and Pastor Kirton would have been pleased to see his legacy of love continue. Pastor Terrance Daye of the Christian Life Center Church will continue the tradition that the late Dr. Roy Kirton started since we both have a heart for the underserved, especially those with food insecurities.
