“Summer breeze makes me feel fine Blowin’ through the jasmine in my mind Oh, summer breeze; Summer breeze makes me feel fine Blowin’ through the jasmine in my mind; All in my mind”
Who remembers this Isley Brothers’ hit from 1974? July brings the summer breeze, the bright sunshine, and the hint of fun in the sun. Tis the season to free your mind, let your hair down, and Relax! However, while we are outside, enjoying life, I want to encourage you that is also a time to recalibrate, refresh,
and refuel.
This is an opportunity to cast off the garment of heaviness and shift into the loftiness of a summer breeze. Seasonal changes denote a change in us. Can you recognize His handiwork in your life? He provides the season of beauty and refreshing for us to renew our spiritual awareness of beauty and grace. Don’t miss
the beauty of His grace that is speaking to us in every area of our lives. The same way He revitalizes nature, restores bears out of hibernation, and changes the weather, God wants to recalibrate you! Isaiah 43:19 says, “Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
To recalibrate means to make small changes to an instrument so that it measures accurately. This word is from calibrate, originally
“determine the caliber of;” to reset, or fine- tune. To refresh means to give new strength or energy to; reinvigorate. The New Testament Greek verb for “refresh” is ANAPSEUCHO. ANA means “again” and PSEUCHO comes from the Greek noun for the “soul.” When you put it all together, it means to breathe again and again or to revive the soul. Refueling is necessary in order to create ‘real positive energy that helps you overcome obstacles and challenges to create success.
Allow the ‘Summer Breeze,” of God to cause you to shift gears, from where you were, to where God desires for you to be. There has been a seasonal change; therefore, we need to shift into where God is. Let go of the winter blues, the spring allergies, and receive the newness of now! Jesus died that we ‘might have life and have it more abundantly.’ He’s done His part; now, we must do ours!
How do you recalibrate, refresh, and refueling your life?
