New Life School of Theology Celebrates Virtual Graduation Ceremony

On Saturday, July 28, 2024, the New Life School of Theology celebrated its graduation ceremony virtually, bringing together students, faculty, and distinguished guests from across the country. The ceremony, held at 10 AM, marked a significant milestone for the institution, which has been dedicated to educating and training students in formal theology and church history for over ten years.

The New Life School of Theology offers comprehensive programs ranging from one to six years, tailored to educate and equip individuals from diverse congregations nationwide. This year’s graduates have completed rigorous curriculums designed to deepen their theological knowledge and enhance their ministry skills.

A highlight of the ceremony was the keynote address by special guest Bishop Lisa Weah of Baltimore, MD. Known for her purpose, passion, and power, Bishop Weah is the Senior Pastor of the New Bethlehem Baptist Church in Baltimore, where she has made history as the church’s first female pastor. Her leadership has not only inspired her congregation but also extended into the broader community.

A Profile of Bishop Lisa Weah

Bishop Lisa M. Weah is a dynamic leader who has significantly impacted the Sandtown-Winchester Community and the greater DMV area. With a growing team of servant leaders and volunteers, she has forged partnerships with renowned institutions such as Johns Hopkins, the University of Maryland, and various Faith-Based and Community Coalitions. These collaborations have resulted in initiatives that feed, employ, and empower hundreds of individuals.

Committed to the mental and spiritual well-being of her congregation and community, Bishop Weah has launched several transformative initiatives, including the NBBC Empowerment Institute, the Dream Life CDC, the Dream Café, and the Dreamscape Small Business Entrepreneurial Showcase. Her efforts aim to provide holistic support and opportunities for personal and communal growth.

Bishop Weah’s influence extends beyond her local community. She serves on the Council of Bishops of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship, the Executive Council of the Kingdom Association of Covenant Pastors, and the State of Maryland Council on Child Abuse and Neglect. Her leadership and advocacy work have earned her a respected place in these significant organizations.

A multifaceted individual, Bishop Weah is also a published author, musical artist, and radio personality. Her Breathe Again EP is available on digital media outlets, and her latest book, Leading With A Left Hand, offers insights into her unique leadership style. She hosts “The Maximize Moment w/Dr. Lisa Weah,” which airs weekly on WEAA 88.9FM’s Gospel Grace Morning Show and on her YouTube channel.

Bishop Weah’s academic achievements are equally impressive. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland at College Park, along with Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Howard University. She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and serves as an adjunct faculty program director, instructor, cohort leader, and trustee at the United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. Additionally, she is the CEO of LMW Enterprises and the visionary behind The Vilomah Gathering, an initiative supporting those who have lost children.

Beyond her professional and ministerial accomplishments, Bishop Weah is devoted to her family as a mother and ‘glamma.’ Her life mission is to empower individuals to live victorious Christian lives, a goal she continues to pursue with unwavering dedication.
