Life Coaching is Necessary

By Overseer Regina Ravenell-Carr

Who needs a Coach? Everyone needs a Coach. The truth of the matter is, we have all experienced the art life coaching in our lives, in one way or another. Life Coaching has been here since the beginning of time. Parenting is usually our first encounter with coaching. Most of us have a memory of the best teacher, that either took us under their wing, let us peek into a world, outside of your own or mentored us to be the our best or better than we were! Life Coaching is necessary in every area of our lives.

Life Coaching is not a new-fangled thing; it is a social mechanism that the universe relies upon to build each other up! It is because of coaching that we are able to enjoy the sidelines of watching football, basketball, soccer, baseball and tennis games, to name a few. There is no athlete that did not have a coach to guide, instruct, encourage, and support them along the way. Without a coach, Michael Strahan, Tom Brady, Eli Manning, Lebron James, Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O’Neal, David Beckham, Tiger Woods, Venus and Serena Williams, Novak Djokovic, Miguel Cabana and Eduardo Escobar, may not have become the world-famous athletes that they are! Some of my coaches have been my parents, aunties and uncles, the older folk in the neighborhood, my church family, and even some of my haters! I would be amiss if I didn’t mention, Oprah, Martha Beck (a contributor for the O Magazine), Robin Roberts (from Good Morning America), Bishop T.D. Jakes (Senior Pastor at the Potter’s House, Dallas, TX), Apostle Patricia A. Wiley (my current pastor at The Oil of Joy Ministries, Inc. Bklyn, NY), my husband and my children!

Life Coaching is Essential!
Life Coaching is the art of helping others find their purpose, realize their potential, and devise a strategy to help them accomplish their goals. Life Coaches respond to the need of the individual, listens to their story and draw out the positives to move them forward. I read somewhere that; coaching helps people get out of their own heads, into their reality. The primary purpose of coaching is to help you go from where you are to where you are supposed to be! How many times have you struggled with which way you should you go? Do you really know where you are going? What is your purpose and/or your plan? Are there persons around you that are willing to listen to your story or vision, encourage you beyond the scary parts, or challenge you to overcome your fear? A coach will be there for you. Effective coaching is about positive results; therefore, it is important for a coach to experience a positive outcome for each client!

There are all types of coaches. I am Christian Life Coach. My coaching niche is to take you from your pit to your purpose. I relish the opportunities that I have with my clients. I always receive a double blessing during my sessions. What double blessings? Glad you asked! Once I connect with the client and their vision, I am able to pour out divine insight and strategy to motivate the client to begin to shift! Throughout this process, God is speaking to me and the client; and we evolve into a new level on our journey. The opportunity that I have to enlighten and encourage the client through the Word of God, share my story and bring new revelation is epic! The outcome is always positive, well received and insightful!

Coaching comes from many different perspectives. Thanks to the challenges I have had to face and overcome, God has equipped me to help others to come out from wherever they are! John 10:10, tells us that the devil comes to steal, kill and destroy! Unfortunately, most don’t believe that there is really an attack on the life of the believer! There certainly is an attack and we cannot fight it on our own. The devil is cunning and crafty, as well as subtle and alluring! His plan is to draw us out of the ark of safety, into the pit of hell! You may not think you are not in jeopardy, but none of us are exempt from his attack. Ask yourself these questions: Do I know what God has assigned for me to do? Am I aware of my spiritual gifts to do the work He has called me to do? Am I living the life that is ordained for me? Is my lifestyle one that will lead others to Christ?

If you have answered no to ANY of these questions, it just might be time to take a good look at yourself, your life and your lifestyle. Are there things that you need to change? Do you have the right person in your corner to encourage you to press on?
As a Christian Life Coach, my goal is to equip, empower and encourage you to be all that God has called you to be! I offer creative Christian life coaching to help you come out from wherever you. You remember the childhood game we played and someone would say, “Come out, come out from wherever you are! Christ is calling for you to come out and be seen! Every calling is not behind the podium, on a pulpit or even in the church building. We are the church and God has called each of us to do a work to draw others out of darkness into the marvelous light. Paul says, “I would not want you to be ignorant, (Rom. 1:13, KJV). We can no longer be ignorant in the things of God. We must be sober minded, know our purpose and pursue! There are others, whose lives are at stake when we fail to operate in our divine purpose.

Finally, I want to leave you with this thought, that I always share with the inmates at the Yaphank Correction Facility, “Jesus grew in wisdom, stature and favor (Luke 2:52).” If Jesus had to grow, then so should you! Get a Life Coach to help you transform your life. Believingbeyondyou.com
