MANA Uplifts Community in Easter Celebration

March 10, 2024

In the heart of Central Long Island, the spirit of Easter is fervently celebrated by the vibrant African American Ministerial Group, spreading joy and hope throughout the community.

“We commemorate not just the resurrection of Christ, but also the resilience of our ancestors and the continuous journey towards freedom and justice,” Bishop Andy C. Lewteer expressed passionately during his annual Easter message.

The celebration extended beyond the church walls, as members of the Ministerial Group organized various community outreach initiatives. From distributing meals to the less fortunate to organizing Easter egg hunts for children, the group aimed to spread love and compassion throughout Central Long Island.

The festivities were not only spiritual but also culturally enriching. The Ministerial Group incorporated elements of African American traditions into the celebrations, including gospel music performances, soul food feasts, and vibrant displays of art and poetry.

“We celebrate our heritage as we celebrate the resurrection,” remarked Deacon Samuel Wright. “Our culture and faith are deeply intertwined, and it’s important to honor both as we come together in fellowship.”

The Ministerial Alliance of North Amityville and Vicinity remains committed to fostering unity and solidarity within Central Long Island. As Overseer Diane Seaman eloquently stated, “In times of uncertainty and adversity, it is our faith and collective strength that sustain us. Together, we can overcome any challenge and build a brighter future for our community.”

The Easter celebration organized by the African American Ministerial Group not only served as a spiritual rejuvenation for its members but also as a beacon of hope and inspiration for the entire community of Central Long Island. In a world filled with turmoil, their unwavering faith and dedication to service continue to uplift hearts and transform lives.
