On Sunday, November 13th the Ministerial Alliance of North Amityville & Vicinity ( MANA) hosted a prayer vigil and call to justice for Tyler Lewis. Tyler was a 19-year-old student from Long Island who attended the University of Buffalo and was murdered on the campus of Buffalo State. In the prayer vigil, many of MANA’s leaders prayed and talked about the life of Tyler being taken away too son in a evil act. Condolences and prayers of comfort went out to the family as they gathered in the sanctuary at Hollywood Full Gospel Baptist Cathedral in Amityville.
The community and churches stood with the Ministerial Alliance to call for justice because an arrests have not been made of an alleged robbery suspect in the Buffalo area. The investigator on the case informed the family that they are close to making an arrest and that Tyler was a victim of a robbery. However, Tyler was not only a victim, he was a young man who had a bright future and life ahead of him. Tyler was a loving teenager and he was loved by many. The grieving family expressed their concerns about the murder was over 30 days ago, and they don’t understand why the police would not make an arrest leaving this dangerous man on the streets near the college campuses, The Ministerial Alliance of North Amityville & Vicinity will pray and support the family as they continue the fight for justice.
