One of the goals of the Ministerial Alliance of North Amityville and Vicinity is to insure that the members of the organization have an opportunity to broaden their horizons and add to the varied experiences they have been honored to have over the years. Some of those experiences have been educational and the Ministerial Alliance of North Amityville and Vicinity is always looking for ways of adding to those educational experiences. Toward that end, MANA members are invited to join an online Summer Theological Intensive that will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023 and Saturday, August 12, 2023. Both of these events will be virtual so that you will be able to participate from the comfort of your own home or office. Tuition for the intensive is normally $99 but MANA members are being given a discount so that the tuition is only $79.
The intensive contents will be two fold. The first half of the intensive will include several lectures on the life and legacy of William E. B. Dubois, the first man of color to earn a Ph. D. from Harvard University. This course will examine his early life, Harvard years, founding member of the NAACP, activist and author. The second half of the intensive will look at the topic of Social Justice through the lens of that dynamic scholar, Michael Eric Dyson. On July 15th students will be given access to the material on Dubois with four weeks to complete the associated assignments and then on August 12th students will be given access to the material on Social Justice with three weeks to complete the associated assignment.
