New Hope Institutional Baptist Church in Tarrytown, NY, along with myself, Pastor
Norman W. Scott (who serves as the Senior Pastor), was tremendously blessed during
our recent Revival themed “The Ships.” Each night, the congregation was inspired and
uplifted by powerful messages delivered by guest preachers, who skillfully unpacked the
principles of Stewardship, Fellowship, and Discipleship.
Stewardship:
Our Revival reminded us that stewardship is about honoring God through the
responsible management of all that He has entrusted to us—our time, talents, and
treasures. Pastor Jesse Voyd Bottoms Jr., Senior Pastor of the Beulah Baptist Church,
Poughkeepsie, NY challenged us to give generously, live intentionally, and serve
faithfully, emphasizing that true stewardship begins with recognizing that all we have
belongs to God. By aligning our priorities with His purpose, we learned that we can
make a lasting impact for the Kingdom.
Fellowship:
The spirit of fellowship was evident throughout the Revival, as we celebrated the joy
and strength found in our community of believers. Pastor Daniel J. Blackburn Sr., Senior
Pastor of the Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Beacon, NY illuminated the biblical call
to love and support one another, stressing the importance of unity, encouragement, and
shared purpose. Fellowship, he taught, goes beyond casual connections—it is a sacred
bond that reflects God’s love and builds His church.
Discipleship:
The Revival concluded with a heartfelt call to discipleship, urging us to embrace our role
as followers of Christ and to disciple others. Pastor Erwin Lee Trollinger Jr., Senior
Pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church, White Plains, NY underscored the necessity of
growing in faith, living as examples of Christ’s teachings, and actively sharing the
Gospel. Discipleship, we were reminded, is not just a personal journey but a mission to
lead others into deeper relationships with God.
Each evening of the Revival was filled with heartfelt worship, life-changing messages,
and a renewed commitment to God’s work. As a congregation, we left this Revival
equipped and inspired to embark on “The Ships,” embracing stewardship, fellowship,
and discipleship as essential pillars of our faith.
