Recently, I had the privilege of accompanying my Apostle, Dr. Patricia A. Wiley to Houston, TX., to the Oil of Joy Ministries International Conference. I was delighted to meet so many phenomenal men and women of God. The outpour of love and genuine hospitality was unforgettable. There was something for everyone to attend. Various ministries were present, as well as, cultural and age difference.
Nevertheless, the worship was pure and captivating! Each session began with a soaking period. This was an opportunity to enter into a personal experience in the presence of worship and in the presence of the Lord. In my observation, there was a gentleman, who is handicapped, that prayed, sang, and drew us into the Holy of Holies. It felt unadulterated! Praise dancers and Flaggers (not sure if that is a word or term) flowed with our worship experiences.
Moreover, it was to my surprise that the theme was, “Fresh Oil!” Why surprised? I was following my Apostle, and members from her congregation, so I never looked at the theme. I was blown away because Fresh Oil coincides with the theme for my ministry this year. Since October 2024, the Holy Spirit has invoked me to preach P.O.U.R! The acronyms stand for, “Pouring the Oil Until Retore!” This caused to let down my “I’m New,” guard down and receive what the Spirit of the Lord was depositing into my spirit.
Needless to say, I returned home full! Zechariah 4:1-7 was the scriptural reference. The key verse: “So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts.” Our might and our power cannot do the work of the Spirit of the Lord. We have to surrender to His presence, purpose, and power. Although there were several dynamic speakers, one message stood out to me! Unfortunately, I do not have his name on my notes, nor is he on the flyer. However, his message hit differently. He began talking about a perpetual flow of oil. We were encouraged to have or be in the perpetual flow. Perpetual means continual or everlasting. This oil that God given to us must endure from generation to generation. Let that sink! Then he led us to Deuteronomy 33:24-25. This passage speaks of Asher, Jacob’s eighth son, whose name means blessed. According to verse 24, Asher is most blessed and to be favored by his brothers. The mandate was that his feet be dipped (bathe) in oil and that he would safe and strong! His analogy was if we allow our feet to be dipped or bathe in the oil, the anointing will be with us. Our feet will splish-splash with oil! I felt that and I hope you do too!
