Strategies for the New Year

Happy New Year, with the arrival of January comes a new year with all of the promise and problems that go along with facing a new year. A recent study shows that most Americans make up their minds to change their ways at the beginning of each year. Some of the things that they resolve to do is lose weight, stop smoking, quit drinking and getting into better shape. The truth of the matter is that we all approach the new year with a mindset to improve our lives in significant ways. I would like to offer you three simple strategies that can help make your 2023 a better year than 2022.

Be Careful– Worry, Hurry, Stress and Multi-Tasking are the four horsemen that can cause us to hurt ourselves. It is easy to become accident prone when we allow these four items to dominant our minds to the point that they are all that we think about or do.

Be Thoughtful– One iof the best ways to insure a life of misery is to send all of your time thinking about yourself. When the disciples of Jesus came to him and asked what was the greatest of the commandments he responded “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind and strength and to love you neighbor as yourself. Watch how life improves when you think of others rather than yourself all of the time

Be Grateful– People who ignore the blessing that they receive feel entitled and are always looking for more. If we take the time to consider just how good God has been to us in our yesterdays it will help us to appreciate where we are already and stop spending the majority of time whining and complaining about what we don’t have

Friends, take these suggestions and use them to make 2023 your best year ever.
