The Sunday School Corner

This quarter focuses on God’s Great Blessing.  We have discussed the blessings of the Savior and the blessings of the Gospel.  We can conclude that God’s blessings are abounding in our lives; therefore, we should count them not overlook them.  February’s lessons are the blessing of grace in Christ.

Grace is favor or kindness shown without regard to the worth or merit of the one who receives it and in spite of what that person deserves.  Have you ever questioned what or why someone receives what it. Although the grace of God is always free and undeserved, it must not be taken for granted.

The first blessing is, we are members of one body in Christ, (1 Cor. 12:14-31). The hand is no bigger than the foot, the eye not more important and the ear, and the parts are all necessary for the work in the kingdom of God.  There should be no schism in the body, but we should have the same care, one for another. The second lesson reminds us that, “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation (Jas. 1
;1-8, 12-18)
; for when he is tried he shall receive the crown of life. We are encouraged to count it all joy when we fall into divers’ temptation. Why? The trying of our faith, produces patience; that we may be perfect and wanting nothing. In the third lesson, Paul is letting us know that, God will comfort us, (2 Cor. 1:3-11), in all of our tribulations, that we may be able to comfort others. The fourth blessing is of godliness, (2 Pet. 1:3-14). It instructs us to add to our faith.  God has given us a portion of faith, but we must add virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience and godliness.  “For if these things are added, you will neither be barren nor unfruitful. Finally, the fifth blessing is we should bear the fruit of the Spirit. “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit!” Count your blessings!
