At a time when the church is trying to recover from two years of uncertainty because of the presence of covid -19, congregations across Amityville and vicinity are searching for ways to incentivize their leaders take charge in order to rescue ourselves from the impact of the pandemic.

It is against that back drop that we salute the Holy Trinity Baptist Church, under the leadership of Dr. Vernon Shelton, for the initiative they have taken in this area. On the morning of Saturday, January 21, 2023 Holy Trinity opened its doors to welcome the leadership of its congregation to a special meeting and workshop on leadership. The workshop was opened to the public and members of MANA were in attendance.

The workshop focus upon five specific items that included

Promotion
Participation
Promptness
Presentation
Production.

In addition, Pastor Shelton, talked extensively about how many people pursue the “title” but are not interested in the “towel”, which would suggest that there is little interest in doing the work that goes along with the position of leader. The workshop anticipates a follow up opportunity that MANA will have to broaden the workshop to more members of the Ministerial Alliance of North Amityville and Vicinity.
